Detectives Investigate Disappearance of Nassau County Political Candidate Petros Krommidas on Long Island

Investigators in Nassau County, New York, are intensifying their search for a missing Democratic political candidate and field organizer, Petros Krommidas, who vanished last Thursday evening. According to the Nassau County Police Department, the 29-year-old was last seen in Baldwin, Long Island, at approximately 10:30 pm on April 25th.

Krommidas was reportedly wearing a camouflage-print sweatshirt and gray sweatpants at the time of his disappearance. Police believe he may have been heading to the Long Beach area. His family confirmed that his personal items, including his clothing and phone, were found on the beach near the Allegria Hotel in Long Beach after he was reported missing.

In a social media post, Krommiras‘ family appealed to the public for assistance in locating him. They described his disappearance as “out of character” and urged anyone with information to come forward.

Krommidas is a well-known figure in the local political arena, having served as a Field Organizer for the Nassau County Democratic Party for five months and as a candidate for the Nassau County Legislator in the 4th District. He is also an accomplished athlete, with plans to compete in an upcoming triathlon and a history of cold-water training. Standing at 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 230 pounds, he is easily recognizable.

Jay Jacobs, the Nassau County Democratic Chairman, expressed his concern over Krommidas‘ disappearance. “Petros was a driven, passionate advocate for Democratic values and a respected member of our community. We are deeply saddened and remain hopeful for his safe return,’ Jacobs stated.
