CIA Launches Hollywood-Style Recruitment Campaign Targeting Chinese Dissidents
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has unveiled a bold new recruitment strategy aimed at Chinese dissidents, releasing two professionally produced, Hollywood-style videos in Mandarin. Each approximately three minutes long, the videos are designed to appeal to individuals willing to spy for the United States, particularly those within the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
On the 100th day of the Trump administration, the CCP publicly declared its refusal to succumb to U.S. pressure in a fiery video. Meanwhile, the CIA’s campaign seeks to capitalize on internal discontent within China. JOHN RATCLIFFE, CIA Director, exclusively told Fox News, “One of the primary roles of the CIA is to collect intelligence for the president and our policymakers. One of the ways we do that is by recruiting assets that can help us steal secrets.”
The videos are now accessible on CIA’s social media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Telegram, Instagram, and X. The first video targets senior CCP leaders, many of whom have witnessed colleagues being fired, imprisoned, or even disappearing. The video concludes with a powerful message: “Grasp your fate in your hands.”
“This video explains to them how they can contact the CIA through our dark website and improve their safety, well-being, and that of their families,” explained RATCLIFFE. He emphasized that during his tenure as Director of National Intelligence under the first Trump administration, China emerged as the United States’ most formidable adversary—economically, politically, and militarily.
The second video is tailored for junior CCP officers, highlighting their limited career prospects and the disproportionate benefits reaped by CCP elites. It ends with the phrase, “Heaven helps those who help themselves. Your fate is in your control.”
RATCLIFFE expressed confidence that the videos will bypass China’s Great Firewall and reach their intended audience. The CIA previously tested a Mandarin recruitment video that garnered millions of views. “The agency’s line is open,” he stated, urging individuals in China to come forward while assuring them of confidentiality.
“We’re moving forward and putting more distance between the United States and China early on in the Trump administration, and that’s going to continue,” RATCLIFFE added.
