Police in Mesa, Arizona, arrested a suspected arsonist after he allegedly set a newly delivered Tesla Cybertruck on fire at a local dealership.
On Monday, April 29, Mesa Police responded to reports of an explosion at the **Tesla Service Center** in Mesa, Arizona, shortly before 2:00 a.m. Witnesses reported flames and smoke near the building, which officers traced to a recently delivered **Tesla Cybertruck**.
A video from **Fox News affiliate KSAZ-TV** depicted federal and state law enforcement surrounding the dealership after the fire was extinguished. The suspect, identified as **Ian Moses**, 35, allegedly wrote “THEIF” (sic) on the dealership’s exterior before igniting the vehicle. During their investigation, police spotted a suspicious van parked nearby. Officers observed **Moses** approaching the van on a bicycle and opening its door. He was subsequently detained and matched to security footage captured by the **Tesla Security Center**.
**Moses** was arrested and charged with one count of arson of a structure and property. The **Mesa Police Department** announced it is collaborating with federal authorities, with additional charges pending as the investigation continues.
This incident coincides with a nationwide wave of vandalism targeting **Elon Musk’s** companies, including recent attacks on Tesla vehicles and infrastructure.
